The 2024 Kronborg Cup Kicks Off with a Bang

Between 3,000 and 4,000 children and teenagers, along with coaches, leaders, and parents, helped make Friday afternoon and evening a fantastic day filled with many wonderful memories and experiences.

The opening event began amid rain and wind, which initially caused the celebration to be delayed and meant that only the most water-loving participants made their way to the venue. But as the afternoon wore on, the weather got better and better, so the afternoon ended up being sunny and dry, much to the delight of all the participants, whose numbers grew steadily throughout the day.

This year, there were plenty of new activities at the opening event, but there were also quite a few returning favorites from the past few years, all taking place at the Kulturværftet grounds, on the ravelin, and at the Værftets Food Market. This year, for example, there were appearances by CoastZone, the DBU Fanzone, and many others.

After a slight delay, the many attendees were able to dust off their dancing shoes and enjoy a slew of hits from Baloosh. The area in front of the stage was packed, and there was a rush to take selfies when the concert ended at 6:00 p.m.

The opening event concluded with a grand march through downtown Helsingør. True to tradition, the procession through Helsingør’s streets featured chants, club flags, banners, and high spirits. So if the locals and tourists in town didn’t know it was Kronborg Cup weekend—well, they certainly had no doubt about it by then.

We look forward to seeing you next year for another fantastic party!
