At the 2025 Kronborg Cup, we’ll once again see strong international participation, with teams from Sweden and Finland. It’s always fantastic to see how the courts buzz with an international atmosphere and matches that transcend national borders. Right now, we’ve received a record number of registrations and inquiries earlier than in previous years. This bodes well for a year of fierce international competition at the Kronborg Cup:
"It is gratifying to see the great interest from Scandinavian clubs in the 2025 Kronborg Cup. We look forward to welcoming our Scandinavian neighbors to the Kronborg Cup and once again giving the tournament an international flair," says Frederik Hertz, chairman of the Kronborg Cup.
Foreign teams add great value to the tournament and to the Danish soccer players. Foreign teams often bring a slightly different approach to soccer, and this creates a different atmosphere among young people when the language is different:
“The kids enjoy playing against foreign teams because it gives the tournament an international feel, even though we’re in Helsingør. The kids also think it’s fun to play against other soccer players who speak a different language and maybe play a little differently. For us coaches, it’s also fun to face opponents who might have a slightly different tactical approach to soccer than we do here in Denmark,”, says Jakob Vesterbæk of Snekkersten IF.
