City guide to Elsinore - the world's first AI guide

Museum Elsinore has launched the world's first so-called city history GPT. It is an AI guide that brings Elsinore's rich history to life for locals and tourists alike. The AI guide is available in 20 languages and can transform the city center's many houses, streets, squares and sculptures into living stories.

The city's many colorful street names become little codes and puzzles that can now be experienced in a whole new way. This amazing tool has the potential to attract more visitors and create a deeper understanding and appreciation of our beloved city.

It knows lots of fun and quirky little historical details and is accessible to anyone with a smartphone.

With AI-GUIDEN, everyone has the chance to explore history from their own personal perspectives, whether it's an interest in architecture, conflict, love stories or even dogs.

You can ask questions about the street you walk on, the house you look at, a sign you come across. This way you get to experience the breadth of the story in a different way when you are in the place where the story took place.

The Dockyard Museum

📍 Kulturværftet, Allégade 2, 3000 Helsingør

The Shipyard Museum is dedicated to the time when the city's shipyard built ships and the working class grew. Helsingør Værftsmuseum is the story of toil, noise, dirt, pride and unity in a bygone era when the shipyard whistle ruled the town. Economically, employably, socially, culturally and politically, the shipyard was the natural focal point.

Guided tour
Groups can come outside opening hours by appointment. A guided tour with a former shipyard worker costs DKK 600 for groups up to 10 people and DKK 800 for groups larger than 10 people. Entrance fees are included in the price.

Shop
The Dockyard Museum has a small shop where you can buy books, postcards and films about the Dockyard.

Kronborg harbour of culture in Helsingør

Feel the wings of history at the Port of Elsinore, also known as Kulturhavn Kronborg. Kulturhavn Kronborg is the focal point of Helsingør's history and present, and connects the UNESCO World Heritage Kronborg Castle, the M/S Maritime Museum and the City of Helsingør.

Kulturhavn Kronborg highlights Helsingør's historically important location at the edge of the Øresund, where the harbour opens up Helsingør city to the water.

Kulturhavn Kronborg is used by the city's citizens and guests - for various events - e.g. the Kronborg Cup's opening ceremony.

Kronborg Beach

Kohaverne Hellebæk

Four kilometers northwest of Helsingør you will find Hellebæk Kohave. The 290 hectares of land consists of natural forest, pastures, bogs, marshes, fresh meadows and hay meadows. Port of Hornbæk

A trip to Hornbæk Harbour is synonymous with Danish summer and sunny weather. Hornbæk Harbour is a charming marina - formerly a small fishing village - with beaches on both sides and with 100 meters to Hornbæk's idyllic town with shopping street and restaurants.

The port has a lot of activities for children and adults, including the beach playground - a wonderful playground for children. Enjoy the view over the Kattegat and the beautiful sunset on the north coast at the cosy barbecue areas.

Helsingør Nordhavn

Located at the entrance to Øresund and with Kronborg Castle as a neighbor, Helsingør Nordhavn is a cozy marina with 1000 berths. The harbor offers a good selection of ice houses, fish shops and cafés, a gallery and various shops. With its size, the harbor is one of Denmark's largest marinas, but still retains the intimacy and environment found in smaller harbors.

On both sides of the harbor are two beautiful child-friendly beaches - Grønnehave Strand and Kronborg Strand with sandy bottoms, a public jetty, playgrounds and barbecue areas.

At the harbor, there are plenty of summer activities for the kids, with the large bouncy castle as the center of fun and games and an outdoor harbor pool where kids can get up close to the wildlife of Øresund.

The harbor is particularly known for its spectacular location at the foot of Kronborg Castle, where the Sound is at its narrowest, offering a stunning view of the Sound with the Swedish coast as a backdrop and the Kulturhavnen and Værftets Madmarked in the old shipyard halls as the nearest neighbor.

Only a 5-10 minute walk from the harbor is Helsingør Bymidte, which is connected by the long harbor promenade that runs past the many museums such as the Maritime Museum, Øresund Aquarium, Kronborg, Kulturhavnen.

Øresundsakvariet

Experience the wildlife of Øresund. The Øresund Aquarium in Helsingør gives visitors the opportunity to experience an exciting and for many unknown wildlife in the Øresund.

Sea anemones, sea urchins, crabs, red sharks and all kinds of fish. This is just one of the many things you can experience and learn about by visiting the Øresunds Aquarium at Strandpromenaden 5 in Helsingør. 

Kronborg Cup highly recommends a visit to the Øresund Aquarium, which is open every day from 10.00 to 17.00. There is a group discount on admission for groups of more than eight people. The local railway Helsingør, Hornbæk and Gilleleje departs from Helsingør Station and runs to Grønnehave Station, from where it is about a three-minute walk to the museum.

Rudolph Tegner Museum & Statue Park

📍 Museumsvej 19, 3120 Dronningmølle

Amid the magnificent scenery of heather-clad hills and sky, 14 bronze sculptures of powerful men and women loom. The impressive sculptures, dating from 1916, were designed by sculptor Rudolph Tegner, who is also the man behind the Museum building, which is built of concrete. Rudolph Tegner's Museum and Statue Park is a very special experience, combining beautiful nature and bombastic concrete architecture.

The Statue Park is open all year round.
