📍 Kronborg 2C, 3000 Helsingør
Kronborg is Helsingør’s most iconic landmark, and at the start of the new millennium, the ancient castle was placed on a par with the pyramids, among other sites, when it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Kronborg is particularly known for its casemates, where Holger Danske rests and, according to legend, waits to come to Denmark’s aid should the need arise. Kronborg also plays a central role in Shakespeare’s *Hamlet*.
From Helsingør Station, there are signs pointing to Kronborg, and it’s about a 15-minute walk.
