Helsingør North Harbor

📍 Nordhavnsvej 15, 3000 Helsingør

Located at the entrance to the Øresund and next to Kronborg Castle, Helsingør Nordhavn is a charming marina with 1,000 berths. The marina offers a good selection of ice cream shops, fish markets, and cafés, as well as an art gallery and various shops. Despite its size, which makes it one of Denmark’s largest marinas, it has retained the intimacy and atmosphere found in smaller marinas.

On both sides of the harbor are two lovely, child-friendly beaches— Grønnehave Strand and Kronborg Strand —with sandy bottoms, public swimming piers, playgrounds, and barbecue areas.

The harbor offers plenty of summer activities for children, with a large bouncy castle as the center of fun and play, and an outdoor harbor basin where children can get up close to the wildlife of the Øresund.

The harbor is particularly known for its spectacular location at the foot of Kronborg, where the Øresund is at its narrowest, offering a fantastic view of the Øresund with the Swedish coast in the background, and with Kulturhavnen and Værftets Madmarked in the old shipyard halls as its closest neighbors.

Just a 5- to 10-minute walk from the harbor lies Helsingør City Center, which is connected to the long harbor promenade that passes by many museums, such as the Maritime Museum, the Øresund Aquarium, Kronborg Castle, and Kulturhavnen.
