Wafande kicks off the party at this year's opening event

Hitmaker Wafande visits Kronborg Cup's opening event on Friday, August 11 at 17:00 at Helsingør Kulturhavn.

The opening event ends with a concert on the big stage in the middle of Kulturhavnen, where Wafande kicks off this year's tournament with music and dance for all participants and spectators.

Admission to the concert is free - also for non-Kronborg Cup participants - so bring your friends and family to Elsinore.

Wafande is one of the country's best live entertainers, who time and time again energizes the audience with hits that have gone platinum over the years. Improvisation comes naturally to Wafande, and no two concerts are the same. On the other hand, a huge party is guaranteed - every time.

Nick Rubin, President of KC-event, is looking forward to the concert and opening event:

"We are looking forward to Wafande kicking off Kronborg Cup 2023 with a great party at the opening event.

Admission is free for everyone in the city - it is important for Kronborg Cup that it also becomes a day of celebration for the whole city".

Award-winning artist who gets the party started
With huge hits, a brilliant personality and a unique voice, Wafande has sung his way into the hearts of Danes. On stage, he is undoubtedly one of the country's best entertainers, mesmerizing audiences time and time again with hits such as "Se Mig I Dag", "Django" and "En Anden" to name just a few.

2011 was the year Wafande broke the sound barrier and made Denmark smile and shake its ass. It happened with the ultimate summer hit of the year: 'Give me a smile'. The following year, Wafande made it clear, this time with the platinum hit 'Naughty', that he was here to stay. Since then, the whole of Denmark has become on a first-name basis with Wafande - especially after three seasons as a coach on Voice Junior on TV2.

His love of music is as evident as his talent. Long before Wafande was on everyone's lips, it was the love of music that drove his life. This love shines through not only in his compositions and lyric writing, but also on stage with his band behind him. This is where Wafande proves time and time again why he is one of Denmark's strongest live performers.

Since the gold-certified debut album Du Ved Det, released on Universal Music in 2011, the always hard-working singer has long since emerged from the underground, and there are few Danes who don't know Wafande and his music. In 2014, Wafande released his second full-length album Nyt Land. In 2015, the soulful single 'Himlen for mig selv' from the EP Grand Danois was released and immediately became Uvundgåelige of the Week on P3.

A happy reunion
In 2014, Wafande also visited Kronborg Cup for the opening event. Back then, the tournament was smaller than today, so it will be a larger audience of soccer players Wafande will now be in front of.

"The concert is still clearly remembered as a fun and entertaining concert for our participants. We are therefore looking forward to him coming to Elsinore once again," says Nick Rubin.

Over the years, Bro, Djämes Braun and Pharfar, among others, have visited.

You can read more about this year's opening event here. The program will be published soon and will be updated regularly.

Mark your calendars for Friday, August 11. We're looking forward to a great party!
