Tournament Information

Kronborg Cup—a top-notch soccer tournament!

The Kronborg Cup is a great and obvious opportunity for your team to get in shape before the fall soccer tournaments kick off. The Kronborg Cup offers an exciting concept with efficient tournament organization and a focus on healthy eating. It doesn’t matter whether you coach a girls’ or boys’ team in the 7–17 age group, or whether you play at the A, B, or C level—the Kronborg Cup has room for everyone. As one of the few tournaments of its kind, the Kronborg Cup offers multiple levels in most divisions. The many matches are played on top-notch soccer fields in the Municipality of Helsingør, and each team plays all its matches at the same field.

Registration

You can register online here —the registration deadline is Monday, May 17, 2026.

NOTE: If there is a waiting list, classes that include overnight stays will be given priority.

We recommend signing up early—we usually sell out...

Register your team on this page right now, as we usually sell out in most divisions. If there is a large number of registrations for the tournament, the tournament organizers reserve the right to close registration for certain divisions. If there are fewer than 5 teams in a division, the tournament organizers reserve the right to hold the tournament on a single day (after consulting with the clubs).

Scheduling of Matches

The preliminary matches are played on Saturday, and the division-based matches are played on Sunday. All teams must play at least 5 matches over the weekend, and the entire age group plays at the same venue.

As far as possible, the divisions will be organized into preliminary group stages of 4 teams each, followed by a knockout stage divided by skill level (A: Nos. 1–4; B: Nos. 5–8; C: Nos. 9–12; D: Nos. 13–16).

The divisions are established at the A and B levels

The tournament organizers reserve the right to move registered teams up or down a division.

Cancellations regarding accommodations—read more here.

Force Majeure

The refund rules apply regardless of whether the cancellation or no-show is due to a visa not being granted, delayed or canceled trains, flights, or ferries, strikes, lockouts, blockades, or similar events. The rules apply similarly in the event of earthquakes or other natural disasters. No financial compensation will be provided to teams that lose matches due to another team’s failure to appear, their own delayed arrival, or if weather conditions make it impossible to play the matches.

FAQ

There are only a few teams in our league—so what happens next?

We receive a large number of registrations right up until the deadline, and most divisions tend to sell out. Some levels (A, B, or C) are combined into a single level if there are few teams across the grade level. Divisions with four teams will go ahead as planned.

Is it possible to apply for an age exemption for multiple players?

Yes, you can apply for an age exemption, but for 5-player teams, one player may be fielded without an application, while 8- and 11-player teams may field up to two players without an application. Read about the exemption rules and more here (link to subpage).

Which teams will receive prizes?

There are trophies for the winners, as well as gold, silver, and bronze medals in all divisions. In addition, there are commemorative medals for all teams in the 5-player divisions.

Where and when will the awards ceremony take place?

The awards ceremony will take place at the venue where the team played and will be held immediately after the final match has ended. Due to the tight afternoon schedule, teams are encouraged to proceed to the awards ceremony directly after the final match has ended.

How many players can participate, and can a player switch teams?

Number of players per team: - 11-player teams – up to 18 players per team. - 8-player teams – up to 15 players per team. - 5-player teams – up to 12 players per team. A player may only be listed on one team roster. During matches, unlimited substitutions are allowed in all divisions within the permitted number of players.

What happens if a team doesn't show up?

Every year, we urge teams that, for various reasons, are unable to participate to contact the tournament organizers as soon as possible. However, on rare occasions, teams fail to show up. If the match schedule and the availability of fields permit, practice matches between teams in the same group may be arranged in consultation with the tournament office, so that the teams can get the best possible start to the fall season. It is also in the Kronborg Cup’s interest that teams have the opportunity to play as many matches as possible. The Kronborg Cup is not responsible for the conduct of the match, and there is no requirement for referees. No financial compensation will be provided to teams that forfeit matches due to another team’s failure to appear or their own late arrival.
