With thousands of happy young footballers, packed pitches and an infectious atmosphere of fair play and community, Kronborg Cup 2025 was once again a success.

Kronborg Cup 2025 attracted 450 teams this year - including a large proportion from abroad. Participants from Sweden and Finland added a strong international flavor to the event, which is one of the largest youth football tournaments in Denmark. No less than 2,200 matches were played over the weekend with many great goals - 5,100 goals in fact - a good preparation for the fall season.

"We are incredibly happy and proud of this year's event. Everything has gone pretty much as planned, and we have received a lot of positive feedback from players, coaches and parents," says Frederik Hertz, chairman of the Kronborg Cup steering committee, who has been in charge of the planning in recent months.

Colorful opening with party and sing-along
Kronborg Cup officially kicked off on Friday afternoon with a festive opening event, where players and coaches from all participating nations gathered for a variety of activities on land and water - with and without a football. The day ended with a colorful opening march through Helsingør City, setting the mood for a weekend filled with community and sportsmanship.

"It was a fantastic experience to see so many children and young people gathered across clubs and countries. The opening helps to create the special Kronborg Cup atmosphere", says Frederik Hertz.

Indispensable volunteers and partners
It takes something extraordinary to organize an event on the scale that Kronborg Cup has become over the years. And this can only succeed with the help of the many volunteers.

Behind the success of the event is a huge effort from over 800 volunteers who helped with everything from cooking, communication and judges' tables to logistics and cleanup. Their work has been crucial to the smooth running of the event.

"Without the volunteers, there would be no Kronborg Cup. They have put a huge amount of work into both preparation and execution, and it's thanks to them that it all works so well. At the same time, a big thank you to all our important partners who help support us. A big thank you to them all," emphasizes Frederik Hertz.

More than football
Although football was the main focus, the event also offered social activities, communal dining and fun in and around the pitches in Helsingør Municipality. Many participants also took the opportunity to stay overnight at the city's schools, Helsingør Vandrerhjem, Feriebyen and various hotels in the city.

With sunshine, a great atmosphere and lots of fast-paced football, Kronborg Cup 2025 was an event that once again managed to bring young people together across national borders - and emphasize the power of sport to create communities.

Looking ahead to 2026
The organizers have already received the first registration requests for next year's event, and they make no secret of the fact that their ambitions for 2026 are just as big.

"We are constantly working to make it even better. But most importantly, it's the community and the joy of the sport that drives it all," concludes Frederik Hertz.
