It is with great regret and disappointment that we have decided to cancel the 2021 Kronborg Cup. We have been actively planning this year’s Kronborg Cup for many months, considering various scenarios, and we were truly looking forward to packed fields throughout the Helsingør Municipality. Since we naturally take the authorities’ restrictions and mandates regarding large events seriously, we must unfortunately cancel this year’s Kronborg Cup.
We have explored the options and worked hard to organize a successful tournament—which is our core product and top priority—but the authorities’ requirements, including the division of participants into sections and extensive health plan requirements, make it impossible to hold the 2021 Kronborg Cup. Furthermore, another central aspect of the Kronborg Cup is the social aspect—including overnight stays and shared meals—as a club tournament at the end of summer vacation, where the focus is on team bonding. This aspect is also subject to restrictions that are incompatible with holding the Kronborg Cup in a format that resembles previous years’ tournaments and the event the Kronborg Cup has evolved into over the past 12 years.
Now we’re looking ahead to 2022 and beginning our preparations, hoping to host an absolutely fantastic Kronborg Cup 2022—hopefully with significantly fewer restrictions than those we’re currently facing.
What about your registration?
If you have registered a team and/or accommodations for the 2021 Kronborg Cup, you have the option—just like last year—to transfer your registration to 2022. If you do not wish to transfer your registration and/or accommodations, you can receive a refund. It would be an invaluable help to us if you choose to keep your registration by transferring it to 2022. That way, you’ll help ensure that we come back even stronger in 2022. We’ll get back to all registered teams as soon as possible with the exact details regarding transfers and refunds.
