The Kronborg Cup is an international soccer tournament for youth teams—currently the largest tournament on Zealand—held every year during the last weekend of the summer school break.
It doesn’t matter whether you coach a girls’ or boys’ team, or whether you play at the A, B, or C level—the Kronborg Cup has room for everyone. Since its inception in 2008, the Kronborg Cup has been a training tournament with a high standard of play that prepares the participating teams for the fall season.
Each team and age group will play at the same soccer complex all weekend. The many matches will be held on more than 60 perfectly maintained soccer fields at Helsingør Municipality’s eight soccer complexes.

The Kronborg Cup is a collaboration between seven local soccer clubs in the Municipality of Helsingør:
The Kronborg Cup is organized entirely by volunteers from the host clubs, with help from the local community—in 2025, there will be approximately 800 volunteers. The proceeds from the Kronborg Cup go back to the youth divisions of the host clubs behind the tournament.

The Kronborg Cup began back in 2008, when a handful of local enthusiasts wanted to organize a local soccer tournament for the municipality’s soccer clubs as preparation for the fall season. Twenty teams participated without accommodations. The following year, the number of participating teams rose to 75, 12 of which were provided with accommodations—and since then, the Kronborg Cup has only continued to grow!
In 2025, 454 Danish and international teams participated, and approximately 2,500 players and coaches were housed throughout the city—a number that makes the Kronborg Cup the largest sporting event in the Municipality of Helsingør, as well as the largest soccer tournament on Zealand. In recent years, the Kronborg Cup has hosted teams from all over the world.
Over the years, the Kronborg Cup has hosted international teams from the United States, Germany, England, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. In 2025, 25 teams from Scandinavia were registered.

The Kronborg Cup is based on the “Healthy Eating” concept, which prohibits the sale of candy and French fries at the sports facilities during the tournament. Instead, healthy and nutritious food and beverages are sold there.
Meals during the camp follow a healthy eating plan. All of this is designed to create the best possible environment for the young soccer players, so they can perform at their best with a healthy boost of energy.

With Kronborg Castle as a backdrop, the festival kicks off with a spectacular opening event at Kulturhavnen in Helsingør.
Music, entertainment, and various soccer competitions—in collaboration with sponsors and partners—make the day an unforgettable experience.

The festival concludes with a grand opening parade through Helsingør’s historic streets featuring all the participating teams from Denmark and abroad—a memorable experience for the participants of the Kronborg Cup.
